The continent of Europe has shaped the history, culture, and development of the world entire. Often, the question gets asked, "what are Europeans and what are White people?". Whiteness is an arbitrary categorization that has varied in application throughout time, and has been applied incorrectly and unjustly on a frequent basis. However, there is a very real and tangible history to the hereditary nature of European lineage. It is perhaps statistically "easiest" to draw a circle around the North and South European clusters in relation to PCA, but in doing so Yamnaya culture is excluded (alongside myself due to CHG shift) but those of a contemporary nuanced background, such as Ashkenazi Jews (who celebrate their Levantine component and should), are included as European. I believe my perspective is best amplified by an understanding of the realities of the European - West Asian gradient. The ideal analogy to grasp this dilemma is my Yamnaya-Sun theory: on PCA grounds, Yamnaya is a parent star to all our diverse points between the Euro clusters and the Caucasian cluster. Additionally, it should be crucial to analyze multiple variables, such as shared culture, Indo-European language, alongside the often mentioned PCA arguments behind heritage. The continent of Europe varies in EHG (Eastern Hunter Gatherer), CHG (Caucasus), WHG (Western), and ANF (Anatolian Neolithic Farmers) components, but maintains a relative consistency of having the combinations of the aforementioned groups. Our maternal lineage is upwards of 40-90% ANF, further adding to the nuance of heritage. It is important to further dispel absolutism in relation to haplogroup proximity. To demonstrate why haplogroups may positively correlate with shared heritage but is far from causational and fully accurate, I, as a part Armenian have a shared general R1B haplogroup with Norwegians, but Swedes have a I-M2 haplogroup. For obvious reasons Swedes and Norwegians are still closer, but we as an entire continent exist in a nuanced gradient with elements of us that could be pointed at and discussed in detail for hours. I believe that common Europid identity must include cultural aspects to our shared history. Stemming from Proto-Indo-Europeans just North of the Caucasus mountain range, our languages and nuanced backgrounds have always been expressed across our peoples, a commonality of us all. Furthermore, a European Ethos must be taken into consideration. An Ethos that pioneered science, mathematics, helped establish global trade, and ended slavery across much of the world should be celebrated and valued. Purity testing or the expression of racialized animosity towards individuals of any background will not be tolerated on this website.
